George K Bovis, MD is a neurosurgeon practicing in Chicago for the last 24 years. He completed his college and medical school education at Northwestern University, his neurosurgery training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and  his fellowship training in cerebrovascular and skull base at the Mayfield Clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr Bovis is presently a neurosurgeon practicing at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Rush University Medical School. He is the author of over 75 peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and academic presentations. Dr Bovis is a very active member of the Greek American community both regionally and nationally. He was elected to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis Council  of Chicago, sits on the Board of the National Hellenic Museum, is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarch, and serves as a medical advisor at the Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation and the Greek American Rehabilitation Centre. Finally, both he and his wife Raffaella are Founding Members of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation.
