E/M Guidelines: Beyond the Key Components

Total CME Credit Hours: 1 Category I (Formal)

Description

This webinar was sponsored by Foot Levelers, Inc.

Insurance carriers are increasing the number of audits to ensure that reimbursement is correct for E/M services.  Meanwhile, some are denying E/M services outright when done with the manipulation.  Chiropractors have their own unique set of criteria necessary to perform examinations and to meet the criteria of the 1995 or 1997 E/M guidelines. Before you appeal that denial, are you meeting all the guidelines correctly?  This webinar will discuss E/M coding for the chiropractic office and what work best in obtaining proper reimbursement, while meeting medical necessity and delegation of duties guidelines.

At the end of the program/lecture, the attendee will be able to:

  • Identify medically necessary and reasonable parameters of care
  • Employ examination techniques to establish the necessity of care
  • Evaluate methods to determine delegation of duties pertaining to the examination
