The 2026 ICS Heartland Symposium is a 10-hour virtual educational event focused on women’s health across the lifespan, designed to provide practical, clinically relevant insights that can be applied immediately in practice. Topics will include pregnancy and postpartum care, pelvic floor rehabilitation, fertility support, metabolic health, and nutrition and lifestyle strategies for hormone balance. Through expert-led sessions, attendees will gain valuable tools to enhance patient care and support women’s health from preconception through menopause and beyond.
Erika Mennerick, DC, Cert. MDT, is a Chiropractic Physician at Trillium Health & Wellness in Elburn, Illinois, where she treats patients ranging from infants to adults with a special interest in pregnancy and postpartum musculoskeletal care. With a passion for education, Dr. Mennerick spent seven years as an instructor at the National University of Health Sciences and continues to teach seminars nationwide through the Motion Palpation Institute. Since becoming certified in 2013, the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) has served as the guiding principle behind her patient assessments, combined with Motion Palpation adjusting, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization rehabilitation concepts, and nutritional counseling to support evidence-based, patient-empowered care. Dr. Mennerick also serves on the board of directors of the Illinois Chiropractic Society and is a long-standing member of the American Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Nab is a dynamic and engaging speaker known for presenting current, clinically relevant healthcare topics that practitioners can immediately apply in practice. Her presentations blend the latest research with practical clinical pearls, real-life case studies, and interactive workshop elements that allow attendees to practice techniques and deepen their understanding. A 1994 graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College–Kansas City, Dr. Nab owned a chiropractic clinic in Wichita, Kansas, before providing onsite chiropractic care, nutritional counseling, and employee wellness education at a Wisconsin manufacturing facility from 2012–2017, during which time she authored 1 Degree of Change along with numerous additional publications. She earned a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States in 2015 and now serves as an adjunct professor in the university’s master’s program. Dr. Nab is a Certified Nutrition Specialist, a certified practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine, and works with Affiliated Monitors, an independent monitoring company for professionals. She currently owns Authentic Life in Shawnee, Kansas, where she focuses on functional medicine, genetics, nutrition, and chiropractic care, and regularly writes and speaks on topics related to functional medicine, lifestyle, and whole-person health.
Dr. Kris Tohtz graduated magna cum laude from National University of Health Sciences in 2001 and went on to earn her Diplomate in Acupuncture from the American Chiropractic Association in 2009 after completing supervised medical internships in Beijing and Hangzhou, China. She later obtained her Master of Science in Acupuncture (MsAc), graduating summa cum laude in 2014. Dr. Tohtz is a trained postpartum doula and has completed advanced certification in pregnancy and pediatric care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She currently serves as the Diplomate Educational Co-Coordinator for the ACA Pediatrics Council and was honored as Pediatric Chiropractor of the Year in 2023. Her additional training includes certification in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, a specialty teaching certificate from the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE), and certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine. Dr. Tohtz teaches continuing education programs for healthcare providers on acupuncture, dry needling, pregnancy, nutrition, and pediatric care, and has held leadership roles within the ACA Acupuncture Council for over a decade, as well as serving six years on the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Acupuncture Board.
Dr. Erin Strauch-Ducat helps patients move better, stay active and symptom free as a Chiropractic Physician, She is Board-Certified in Rehabilitation and Orthopedics with over 18 years of hands-on experience treating a variety of muscle, joint, nerve and disc conditions without medication or surgery. In addition, she also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Pelvic Floor Rehab Therapy Provider. Dr. Strauch-Ducat graduated from the National University of Health Sciences in 2006 and is the Immediate Past President of the Illinois Chiropractic Society.
