The McKenzie method, officially known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) is an assessment and classification method that is currently the most evidence-based MSK method of treatment available.
The course will consist of the Misconceptions of the method by providers and an Overview of the method of treatment for spinal and extremity conditions. Emphasis will be on how this method is not a Technique course. Although there will be some active self-treatment procedures performed.
My goal is to illustrate to the Chiropractic Physicians in attendance how MDT will complement their present treatment protocol for new and follow-up patients. I will give examples of how a current Chicago-based company uses MDT as its Physical Medicine Care Model in treating MSK patients.
